Gay rights, climate change, Europe and Guantanamo Bay left off trio of televised debates
The three televised presidential debates saw President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney clashing over a wide range of issues, from domestic policies to international affairs.
But it is what was not said that is just as interesting.
Gay rights
In none of the three debates did the words homosexual, gay, or LGBT came out of one of their mouth, despite Obama becoming the first sitting president to publicly back gay marriage, earlier this year.
The Great Planned Parenthood Lie
a report by Live Action that showed 30 Planned Parenthood offices in 27 states had no direct programs for mammograms. One staffer openly admitted that they don’t provide those services at all. The Alliance Defense Fund asked the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for information on how many PP centers are certified to perform mammograms. HHS said they had no such documentation for PP. When I wanted to read investigative pieces from the other side of the argument, I couldn’t find any. I found plenty of op-eds, for sure, but none of them offered any tangible evidence to back their argument.
What‘s Up With the Media Ignoring Obama’s Gaffes?
The news media is more than happy to report on Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s “gaaaffes,” but what about President Obama’s? After all, the president has had some pretty seriousmissteps in recent weeks.
Since the legacy media “fact checked” the Republican Convention, shouldn’t conservative bloggers, in the interest of fairness, get to fact check the Democrats’ gathering?
Michael Barone quipped that there “was plenty of material for mainstream media fact checkers if they haven’t decided to go on vacation this week. The Romney-Ryan Medicare plan doesn’t cost seniors $6,000 a year, for example.”
